We are in urgent need of two (or more) liturgical (Mass) coordinators for each of our weekend Masses. The role of the minister entails arriving at Mass one-half hour early in order to prepare the sanctuary for worship. In so doing, we enable our priests and deacon to pray without distraction as they prepare to celebrate the liturgy. Some of the various duties include setting out all those items necessary for the celebration of the Mass, checking in all other liturgical ministers for that Mass, and making sure that the lights and the sound system are on. Volunteers will be trained and made familiar with the sacristy where all items are located. Please seriously consider serving in this capacity at whatever liturgy you regularly attend. If you can help, please call Jean Dunne at 425-4125 or email her at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you!
The Church wishes to help form consciences in political life and to stimulate greater insight into the authentic requirements of justice as well as greater readiness to act accordingly, even when this might involve conflict with situations of personal interest... The Church cannot and must not take upon herself the political battle to bring about the most just society possible. She cannot and must not replace the State. Yet at the same time she cannot and must not remain on the sidelines in the fight for justice.
-- Pope Benedict, God is Love
